A very limited edition run (only 6 have been made) of Barrett Alley‘s Devilish Billfold Wallet in bark-tanned deerskin wallets lined with Meiji period (late 19th – early 20th c.) Japanese cotton have just been made available. Each wallet is hand crafted from a single, super soft, hunter-harvested deerskin naturally tanned in Texas using tree bark, then individually hand sewn with Irish linen thread using the traditional saddle stitch method.
The cloth linings are antique Japanese shibori (or “tie-dyed”) textiles – hand loomed and hand dyed with natural indigo. 3 of the wallets use a white cotton with a “blue drop” dye pattern, and 3 wallets use a “white starburst” textile on a dark indigo field. Each wallet is individually signed and numbered (of 3), and are available now at the Barrett Alley website.
